myKnight STAR

myKnight STAR originated from a partnership between UCF and the Education Advisory Board to implement the Student Success Collaborative Campus. myKnight STAR provides tools and advising resources for student success, incorporating data insights and predictive analytics with UCF’s existing advising tools.

Why Be a Part of myKnight STAR?

  • Improve Decision Support
  • Enhance the Student Experience
  • Change Campus Culture
  • Elevate Value
  • Deliver a Social Good
  • Promote Student Development
  • Ensure Everyone Wins

Participants of myKnight STAR work to turn transactional data into actionable insight. Advisors, faculty members and other staff will be able to see in real-time which students need intervention and provide them with a powerful set of data-driven tools to guide academic and career advising. Online dashboards will work with existing advising tools, giving us a 360-degree view of each student and alert advisors if a student is at risk of not performing well in their current or planned coursework. The new tools also will help faculty and staff direct at-risk students to support services available across the university and help us follow their progress.

What’s Next?

Over the next several months, the new platform will be in pilot mode, allowing advisors, faculty and student support staff to train and utilize it. More than 30 staff and faculty members will help develop workflow, training and coordination efforts to roll out myKnight STAR to our campus community over the next nine months.
